A heat advisory remains in effect for the Hudson Valley for Saturday, June 30, until Sunday, July 1. Then the National Weather Service begins an excessive heat warning. That warning will be in effect from Noon on Sunday until 10pm Monday night.

On Saturday, heat index values will be 95 to 100, while on Sunday and Monday the heat index values will be 100 to 110. Temperatures are expected to hit in the upper 90’s to near 100 with dewpoints in the upper 60’s and mid 70’s. The National Weather Service warns about the combination of heat and high humidity may cause heat stress or other heat related illness.

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of hot temperatures is expected says the National Weather Service. Night time temperatures will only drop in the low 70’s. Giving up a pretty good jumping off point for daytime temperatures. The warm weather will stay with us past Monday night, but a few air masses and fronts look like it will lower the humidity.
