Explosion at Beacon Gas Station

The Poughkeepsie Journal is reporting that an explosion has occurred at the recently renovated Xtra Fuels gas station in Beacon on Main and Fishkill Avenue. As a result, 140 gallons of gas was sent spilling down Main Street.

There have been some evacuations while first responders are checking buildings for any suspicious odors. According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, the fire department was on the scene quickly and were able to keep the gas from going into a storm sewer.
