No mystery that I love food and wine, did I mention I love food?

How I missed this restaurant? I have no idea, but I will be back. A friend, Jen from Sol Stars Wine, was co-hosting a wine dinner at Global Palate, 9W in West Park. I had never been to the restaurant and she insisted that I attend. She was quick to tell me that the Chef & Owner Jessica Winchell is amazing in the kitchen and how she sources all of her ingredients locally, makes all her own sausages, jams, desserts, they make everything in house.

When I got there, I was warmly greeted by the staff, feeling as if I was "just visiting a friend at their home". A lengthy specialty cocktail menu and a well stocked back bar, I was intrigued. We were just getting settled when Jessica appeared from the kitchen to introduced herself and share information about each course. What a delight she is, her energy, her love for what she does, what she creates totally coming through both in person and in her dishes.

The menu (for the night) was more French "comfort food" and the wines from Hunawihe in Alsace and Moncigale Winery in France. The wines intriguing and paired perfectly with each course.  Will you find this here every night? No. But if you happen to stop at Global Palate and Jessica has the Cassoulet on the menu. Get it. (I also heard mention of a double cut smoked pork chop on the regular menu...)

I can see myself making this a regular stop, especially since I need to go back and get some of their Lemon Ginger Marmalade.
