Feature Film Needs More Hudson Valley Residents for May Shoot

Hudson Valley residents with no acting experience have another chance to appear in a major motion picture.

Hudson Valley Casting is searching for background actors for a movie that will be filming in Dutchess and Ulster counties. The film is called "Departures" and stars Game of Thrones actress, Maisie Williams, and Asa Butterfield who previously starred in Martin Scorsese's Hugo.

Deadline reports that the movie will be a teen drama centered around a young person who's battling a terminal illness.

The project tells the story of Skye, a spunky teenager with a terminal illness who befriends Calvin, a 19-year-old who is afraid of his own shadow. Calvin helps Skye carry out her eccentric bucket list of things to do before she dies. In the process, he learns to confront and conquer his own fears, including falling in love.

The production company is searching for younger looking actors who are over the age of 18. They're in need of all different types and ethnicities, so if you know anyone who has a "baby face," you should encourage them to send in a headshot.
