Fourth of July came early for folks in Midland, Texas.  Earlier this week the Midland Police Department shared a video of their bomb squad helping the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives detonate 20-thousand pounds of seized fireworks. They set them off during the day, because it was court ordered to destroy them, not to hold a fireworks show with them.

A note on the department's Facebook page says they scheduled the detonation for the middle of the day specifically because it wasn't meant to be a fireworks show.  They also said it was a very informative experience for the department's bomb techs.

Take a look at their 'day at the office'.
