First Friday Returns To Poughkeepsie

A free concert is planned this week as part of First Friday Poughkeepsie. The monthly event is set for a return this Friday night with a show from the band BaseCamp, a local R&B group. The show takes place at City Hall Plaza from 5-8pm.

Everyone attending is encouraged to wear the colors yellow and black to celebrate the 'buzz' about Poughkeepsie. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and folding chairs if you'd like to have seating for the concert.

First Friday began in April of this year by new Poughkeepsie mayor Rob Rolison. Anyone interested in participating in future events should email FirstFridayPoughkeepsie@gmail.com.

First Friday Poughkeepsie is a monthly celebration of Poughkeepsie's cultural, dining and entertainment offerings, highlighting the best of Poughkeepsie to create a unique and fun atmosphere in the city on the first Friday of every month.

Should the weather be an issue the show will be moved to Changepoint Church on Mill Street.
