The store employees sold beer to a minor and were charged with prohibited sale of alcohol to a person under 21 years of age, a misdemeanor.

The police had a 19 year old enter 24 stores in southern Dutchess county and attempted to buy beer. 20 of the stores didn't fall for the police sting.

The four people charged with the sale of alcohol to a minor were issued appearance tickets and released. The stores could face possible civil penalties imposed by the State Liquor Authority. One of those penalties could be the loss of the stores liquor licence.
