Flags across NY will be at half staff today and it has nothing to do with it being National Do-nut Day at Dunkin Donut's. In honor of the 70th anniversary of D-Day, flags are being flown at half-staff on all government buildings in New York.  Gov. Andrew Cuomo made the announcement, reminding New Yorkers Friday to remember the men and women who served on the armed forces during D-Day and throughout World War II. According to the Governor 900,000 New Yorker fought in the war, while nearly 37,000 died.
