Foster’s Coach House in Rhinebeck Closing for Good?

A Rhinebeck institution is rumored to be closing their doors for good. If so, it's an end of an era.

Foster's Coach House Tavern was built in 1890, and originally called "The Village Tavern." According to the restaurant's website, Foster's was purchased in 1965 by Bob Kirwood, who kept the restaurant going for almost 50 years.

Up until last year, Foster's operated the on-site restaurant at the Dutchess County Fair. When that partnership ended, many were upset. But little did they know that there was worse news to come. It looks like the restaurant itself may be closing for good.
