Four fires on the same street over the last month has authorities concerned it could be arson. The most recent blaze on High Street in the City of Poughkeepsie was reported just after 9 p.m. Tuesday night.

According to Todd Bender from the First Responder Network, authorities were on the scene quickly and were accompanied by a heavy police presence. The added police protection was due to the suspicious nature of the fire. Everything was under control within 15 minutes and there were no injuries reported. Fireman traced the origin of the fire to the basement of the home. Previous calls on the street were reported at 20 and 22 High Street.

City of Poughkeepsie Police along with Dutchess County Sheriffs continue to investigate the fires. Should you witness suspicious activity on High Street, call 911 immediately.
