Free Comic Book Day Comes to the Hudson Valley
There is a clear battle going on between DC and Marvel Comics, one that has been ongoing since their foundation. They are two of the most widely known comic book companies in the world and with their competition never subsiding, the fans benefit the most. It creates better films, shows, cartoons and most of all comics!
Free Comic Book Day this year is Saturday, May 5 and here are four Hudson Valley comic stores that are participating so you can get your free comic book!
Dragon's Den is located at 939 Rt. 376 in Wappingers Falls, NY. Along with your free comic, they are offering 10 percent off new comics and 50 percent off graphic novels along with other specials.
Alterniverse is at 1164 Rt. 9G in Hyde Park. They are offering 10 percent off all comics with 20 percent off all trades. They will be welcoming featured guests artists Christian St. Pierre and Jeremy Kahn.
Megabrain Comics recently opened in Rhinebeck giving away 4 free comics per person. They'll be running a costume contest from 12pm-5pm. Artists, Ryan Browne and Tyler Chin-Tanner will also be there.
Kirwan's Game Store located at 2001 South Road in Poughkeepsie. They are partnering with the American Red Cross the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter. For a $1 donation, you will receive an additional three comics of your choice.
