WAPPINGERS FALLS - The Arlington Admirals boys basketball team knows how to bend without breaking.  The undefeated Admirals held off a late surge by Marlboro to win the Duane Davis Memorial Holiday Tournament at Roy C. Ketcham High School. A 63-61 win over Marlboro, even though the game was not as close as it the score would indicate, until the final 2 minutes of play.

"I give the guys a lot of credit", noted head coach Matt Hoyt, "a lot of teams might have let that one go the other way but we need to now figure out how to put teams away when we have a lead."

Arlington had as much as a 12 point lead in this championship game, but Marlboro kept chipping away and behind leading scorer Alain Dumas (20 pts) the Iron Dukes had the game down to a one possession game but without enough ticks left on the clock. Marlboro's floor leader, Tyler Banks, was in early foul trouble and watched from the bench as Dumas, Damien Lowe ((11pts) and Julian Allen (12 pts) systematically scored and rebounded to get the game as close as it was.

But no one this season seems to have an answer for the many weapons that Arlington brings to each game. Between Mike Ryan, Brendan Sunday, Jon Girard, Dan Schweitzer, and a host of others, the Admirals are strong and deep.

Brendan Sunday was named the Tournament MVP, he finished with 20 points, Dan Schweitzer (13 pts) and Marlboro's Tyler Banks were named to the All-Tournament team.
