WICCOPEE -  Back in 2014 when the 2015 schedule was put together, who knew that both John Jay and Marlboro softball teams would be state ranked?

It looked like a pretty good game on the schedule back in April, when the season started, but the fact that John Jay was ranked number 1 in New York State for Class AA schools and Marlboro was ranked number 2 for Class B sized schools - the bar was raised and this became a must see game.

Fans saw a game that lived up to the hype.  Marlboro scored the first run of the game in the 3rd inning on back to back doubles by Taylor Felicello and Ashley Votta, but John Jay came right back with a solo home run from Jaimie Harney in the bottom of the 3rd.

It wasn't until the top of the 7th inning when we saw this game blow apart.  Marlboro finally locked in on John Jay's ace pitcher, Ally Muller, and began to tee off.

Amber Mianti banged a solo HR, winning pitcher Lily Moresco had a two run double, and Alana Baglieri drove in another.

The Iron Dukes scored five runs in the top of the 7th, and John Jay could only muster one run in the bottom of the 7th. And Marlboro wins the clash of the titans 9-3.
