Overnight the Gap Distribution Center in Fishkill went up in flames. Eyewitnesses on the scene show us the out of control fire and aftermath.

NBC News in New York reports that the fire that swept through the Gap Distribution Center was a six-alarm blaze, sending firefighters from several departments to fight the overnight disaster.

The fire started just before 11pm and continued to rage out of control for at least four hours before firefighters were able to make progress on extinguishing it.

A Gap spokesperson told NBC that approximately 100 employees were in the building at the time of the fire, but all were evacuated and there were no injuries:

all employees who were onsite at the time have been confirmed safe and accounted for. Safety is our top priority, and we are working closely with local emergency agencies that are responding to this incident.

An employee who was in the building when the fire broke out spoke exclusively with us about what happened and where the fire allegedly started. He also shared what's happening now to all of the employees who were expecting to show up at work this morning.

YouTube user Davey Boy shared the following drone footage of the fire's aftermath this morning. You can see through the collapsed roof the extent of the damage that was done to the warehouse.

We will have more information on this breaking story as it becomes available.
