This is not about fat-shaming or crash diets. This is not about me getting in fitness model shape. This is NOT a way to brag about how much I can lift, brah.

This is about me getting in shape and being healthy, so I don't check out of life early.

I'm running a Spartan Race on Sunday. I've run many types of obstacle course races in the past, and I'm hoping to complete a Trifecta of Spartan Races this year, along with running the Insane Inflatable 5k and a Tough Mudder in the fall.

I'm also the heaviest I've been in awhile. I'm not crazy overweight, but I really need to lose some poundage. I can run a 5k, but it's neither fast nor pretty. I topped out at 275 years ago, then promptly dropped down to 179.

I don't want to be either of those numbers anymore.

Here's the deal. Sunday's Spartan Race will not be my finest. It'll be slow and painful. But I am DETERMINED to head back a year from now and finish in the top 10%. My extra goal is to finish in the top 100 runners. But that's just gravy.

So, I'm starting a whole bunch of different things this week. I'll be doing running programs, body weight training, HIIT training, some weight lifting programs. And I'm going to share them all with you.

I'll be tracking the amount of burpees, squats and miles I do and I'll be posting all of it on my blog. I'll also be posting my weight progress. Apps, tricks, diet plans. I'll try and review it all.

I'm going to be trying new things and I'm hoping to have fun doing it. Maybe you guys are starting something too, or maybe you just WANT to. Hopefully this can start a little community here at WRRV with people who just want to get healthy and stay that way.

(I'm going to be taping my Spartan Race with a GoPro, so once I get that footage edited, you'll see how bad I look doing it.)
