If you're anything like me, you spend a fair amount of time sitting with a beer in your hand, thinking about how there should be a way to get healthy and fit, stay in shape, and be active while drinking a beer.

If you're nothing like me, you actually follow through on the ideas you come up with while you sit around and ponder with a beer in your hand.

Luckily, the fine folks at Newburgh Brewing Company have the kind of motivation and ambition that I lack and they've put together a very cool event that you're going to love if you happen to enjoy beer but also enjoy feeling like you're not a lazy ball of dough wasting away atop a barstool. I have long since killed the part of my brain that causes me to feel that way, so I will continue to be the ball of dough cheering you on as you run the 3rd Annual Newburgh Draught Day 5 Mile.

When: August 27th, 8:45am
Where: Newburgh Brewing Company, 88 S. Colden Street

Here's what you can look forward to:

  • Timed race in the historic city of Newburgh, with musket shot start
  • Commemorative pint glass (guaranteed for the first 300 runners)
  • Craft beer from Newburgh's favorite brewery
  • Great barbecue lunch on the lawn of George Washington's last headquarters

If you'd like to get a glimpse of the map of the run, check it out here. You can also check out the Facebook event for the event here. And, finally, if you're looking for more info, there's no better place than the official website of the event, which is available here.
