This week Governor Cuomo announced that New York State has 3.5 million dollars for development and research to encourage the use of electric vehicles. The New York Energy Research and Development Authority will be the ones to decided who gets the monies. Do you have any ideas on how to encourage people to buy electric cars? Think you have the ideas that will sway them to the electric side?  Here is what Governor Cuomo had to say about electric car use in New York, according to a press release:

"Clean cars are the way of the future, and with a tremendous increase in the number of electric vehicles sold this year, it is clear New Yorkers support efforts to combat climate change," Governor Cuomo said. "Innovation is what drives New York and we are proud to incentivize the development of improved technologies that will create a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future for all."

If you are interested in purchasing an electric car there is a point of sale rebate that is available for 2017, there are 30 different car models that are eligible for this rebate.
