The nations largest automaker announced Friday that warranty data has prompted them to recall 1.4 million trucks for seat belt flaws.

Affected are 2014-15 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups. According to GM the recall includes 895,232 vehicles owned by consumers in the U.S., approximately 3,000 new vehicles which are still on dealer lots and approximately 142,000 vehicles outside the United States.

GM says reports indicated that a cable that connects the seat belt to the vehicle can become separated over time, causing it to fail. Owners can bring their vehicles to dealers for a quick fix. The auto maker says the recall has not been linked to any crashes or injuries.
