A Hudson Valley child who lost three toes in a lawnmower accident is receiving help from strangers and friends online.

Kellan Ryan is still recovering at Westchester Medical Center after a freak accident left him without three toes.

As we previously reported, Ryan's father, Anthony, was mowing the yard near the 4-year-old's slide. Unaware that Kellan was nearby, Anthony lifted the mower. The child's foot went right into the moving blades, cutting off his tiny toes.

The appendages were put on ice and taken with the child down to Westchester where he remains under care. According to a Go Fund Me page that was set up for the family, Ryan is expected to be in the hospital for an extended period of time.

The fund was set up to help with Ryan's medical bills and to assist his parents, who will be out of work to help tend to their child.  The crowdsourcing website says that any money raised will go towards helping the family continue to pay their rent and monthly bills.

As of the publishing of this article over half of the $10,000 goal has been raised in just six days. You can find out more about the fundraising effort at the Go Fund Me page.
