Intrepid Travel, a company the specializes in small travel excursions took a survey of about 2000 people and the results might mortify your geography teacher.

Of the 2000 people surveyed this is what the results are:

*63 percent didn't know the Space Needle is in Seattle, but 17 percent believed it was in Cape Canaveral, Florida
*40 percent of respondents didn't know that Mount Rushmore is in South Dakota
*Only 31 percent of those surveyed knew Yellowstone National Park is located in Wyoming, Idaho and Montana

So let's leave the United States and go to Earth, you know, the planet third from the Sun. Does the Earth revolve around the Sun or does the Sun revolve around the Earth?  Here are the results of that study, just a hint that you probably don't need, that too will make the teachers wonder if anyone was actually paying attention during class.
