Green Day Launches Coffee Brand

Green Days Billy Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt are working together, outside of the recording studio. Their focus? Coffee. More specifically being able to provide coffee in sustainable packaging. Here what their website says:

"Our commitment to sustainability also has lead to our role in developing coffee packaging products that are the first of their kind: a 12 ounce bag that is completely compostable- valve and all, as well as the world’s first 100% compostable single-serve cups."

The coffee can be purchased now through their website and orders over $30 ship via UPS for no shipping charge, plus (as I found out when I went to place an order for a t-shirt) you can pay using PayPal, another bonus.

It is their goal to also have single serve compostable coffee pods (aka K-Cups) available both in decaf and regular. Those are not ready yet, but according to the Oakland Coffee website, will be "coming soon."
