Last week, over 100,000 pounds of ground beef were recalled due to E. Coli concerns.

USA Today reports that the 132,000 pounds of ground beef that were recalled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Thursday, September 20 may have been sold at major retailers across the country, including one in the Hudson Valley.

The USDA says the beef could have been sold at Target stores across the nation. It was also sold at Sam's Club stores in North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia, Aldi stores in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.

The recall came after 17 people were sick and 1 person died from the contamination. The article reports that Cargill Meat Solutions recalled 66 tons of ground beef made from the chuck portion of the cow for possible E. Coli contamination.

If you believe you have any of the affected meat, the USDA recommends that you throw it away, do not eat it, or return it to the place of purchase.
