Have an antique firearm that was a relatives laying around the house and don't know what to do with it? Maybe there is a whole other reason as to why you have a firearm at home. Want to get it out of the house, with no questions asked?

You can do that, Friday December 16, 2016 between 10AM and 1PM at the City of Newburgh Recreation Center at 401 Washington Street. You can bring any unwanted firearms and turn them in that day. You will not need to provide identification.

Just a few things, the guns must be unloaded and will need to be placed in a plastic bag, paper bag or a box when they are being dropped off.

The buy back event is sponsored by the New York State Attorney Generals Office and the Newburgh Police. They are offering:

  • $25 for any non-working or antique firearms
  • $75 for rifles and shotguns
  • $100 for handguns
  • $150-dollars for assault weapons

For more information, call the State Attorney Generals office at 845-485-3900.
