After a handful of initial shows to launch the "Not in This Lifetime" tour, Guns N' Roses kicked off their two-month long summer trek at Ford Field in Detroit last night (June 24). Performing for two-and-a-half hours, the legends ran through a whopping 24 songs before the night was over.

Frontman Axl Rose, fresh off the road with AC/DC, was the most mobile fans have seen him since the band returned with the current incarnation at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. After suffering from a broken foot that night, the firebrand frontman had been resigned to Dave Grohl's guitar throne, nursing the broken foot in a boot cast. Axl's typical stage moves were back in the spotlight, including the heralded snake dance.

The band went on around 9:45PM and opened the show with "It's So Easy" and "Mr. Brownstone," exploring Rose's higher range on the coming tracks, "Chinese Democracy" and the classic "Welcome to the Jungle" (video above). The band tore through a number of other hits off Appetite for Destruction and Use Your Illusion and II like "Out Ta Get Me," "Sweet Child O' Mine," "Rocket Queen," "Paradise City" and more. Watch more footage below.

The set also included a range of covers like "Raw Power" from Iggy and the Stooges (with McKagan on vocals), "Speak Softly Love," the love theme from The Godfather, Bob Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," the Who's "The Seeker" and "Live and Let Die" by Paul McCartney and Wings.

Fans across North America will have the next two months to catch original members Slash and Duff McKagan rejoining Axl Rose onstage along with drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese and guitarist Richard Fortus. Opening acts will be swapped out throughout the tour, including Alice in Chains (who opened last night's show), Lenny Kravitz, the Cult, Skrillex, Chris Stapleton and Billy Talent.
