Want to spend an evening learning about wine, while enjoying a great meal in a restaurant you might not have tried yet? With this dinner taking place on Halloween Eve, you will also have a chance to win a bottle of wine if you show up to dine wearing your costume.

The restaurant is Global Palate in West Park. The dinner will take place on Sunday, October 29, 2016. The theme for the night is 'Red Wines from Around the World.' Seating for this special wine dinner is limited. The dinner begins at 5:30PM and is $85 per person, not including tax and gratuity. To make reservations call 845.384.6590.

Here is a look at the menu, Vegetarian and Gluten Free options are available upon request.

  • Soup Course, Sage & Delicata Squash Soup with truffle oil. Paired with Feudi del Duca Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2014 from Italy
  • Appetizer Course, Wild Mushroom Terrine with an herbed pastry twist & porcini balsamic. Paired with Frédéric David Grenache 2010, it is a Côtes-du-Rhône Villages from France.
  • Entrée Course, Red Wine Braised Lamb Shank over roasted sun chokes & brussel sprouts with fried parsnip chips or the Vegetarian option of Brandied Oyster Mushrooms with leeks over roasted sun chokes & brussel sprouts with fried parsnip chips. This course will be paired with the Mio Malbec Reserva 2011 from Argentina.
  • Cheese Course, R & G Fig Chevre & Valdeon Blue Cheese served with candied nuts, local pear & crostini. The wine paired with this course will be the Luzón Crianza Selección 2012, from Jumilla, Spain.
  • Dessert Course, will be a house-made Sherry Ice cream in a pistachio tuile with fresh fig compote. This course will be pair with a rich Pedro Ximenez sherry from Alvaro Domecq.

The items will be prepared in house by the owner and Chef Jessica Winchell and the wines will be presented by Michelle of Avivo Vino Wines.
