Is EVERYONE thinking about Valentine's Day? What if you are dreading this Hallmark holiday and you are being innundated by lovey-dovey couples while you are still trying to just get over your ex?

In an article published on SoberRecovery.com. Dr. Lisa Marie Bobby who is a licensed marriage and family therapist says that ending a cherished relationship is a painful experience, and she compares it to drug addiction. Her are her exact words:

“When people fall in love, it is a very distinct, physiologically-based mood state that is an altered state of consciousness that has a great deal in common with cocaine addiction. They experience euphoria, more energy, a decreased need for sleep. They are in all kinds of tumultuous things as a result of being awash in dopamine, the exact same way that cocaine stimulates you.”

Since most people are familiar with individuals being able to get help for addiction through places such as AA and rehab, why shouldn't there be a place for those trying to get over their "love" addiction. Enter Exaholics Anonymous, a group treating getting over an ex like kicking a chemical habit. Do you need more help than you can get from just talking to your friend about it? Or by throwing out all of your ex's clothes and personal effects? Did it not help to burn all of their clothes on the front lawn? Then maybe you might want to check this out. Valentines Day or not.
