I'm addicted to Hearthstone. It's a free, turn-based card game online, made by Blizzard (Heroes Of The Storm, World of Warcraft, etc). You CAN buy packs of cards, but there's no guarantee as to the value you'll get from that pack and the cards are randomized, so you have no idea what you're going to get.

It's not necessarily pay for play, and it's a card game regardless; you'll never know what hand you're going to be dealt, so money spent in no way guarantees a win in the game. If you like Magic: The Gathering, I have no clue why you're not playing Hearthstone.

Every once in awhile, they release new expansion sets. Whispers Of The Old Gods is going to be their latest release. There's no firm date when it's going to drop, but people have guessed it's going to be on April 26.  Think Cthulu and all sorts of nasty, slimy Lovecraft-ian horrors with tentacles. The game is going to go bonkers for a little bit, while everyone tries to figure out how to work out all the new synergies and combos into their existing decks.

It's going to be freaking awesome.

Honestly, it's a really fun game and you guys should be getting into it. I've been thinking about getting a station account so I can suck mightily against some of you. I'll let you know if I actually go through with it. Sucking on the radio is one thing, but online gaming is a whole new ballgame.

And if you think you'd like a little more in person gameplay (if you yearn for your MTG tournament days), make sure you hit up the Fireside Gathering at Dragon's Den on April 23. $5 buy in, with $10 prizes. They're trying to see if they can make it a monthly thing, so make sure you get there.

*I've included a clip about some goofy endings in Hearthstone, just to show you the kind of action that can happen regularly. I personally just got bonked because a Shaman deck unloaded a minion with windfury and buffed it up to a 9/2 creature and clobbered me for 18 damage on turn 3. Yes, it sounds like gobble-de-gook, but if you get into it, you'll really begin to appreciate it. *
