If you've been complaining about the cool temperatures, get ready for a big warm up.

The Hudson Valley is bracing for a heat wave that is expected to hit our area on Sunday and continue with scorching temperatures throughout the beginning of the week.

this spring has been unseasonably cool, with many Hudson Valley residents expressing frustration over not being able to use their pools or enjoy outdoor activities like they normally would this time of year.

After a seasonable day on Saturday the National Weather Service is predicting temperatures to jump up in the low 90s on Sunday. The warming trend will continue into Monday with sunny skies and a high temperature of 93. Similar temperatures are expected for Tuesday.

On Wednesday we're expected to be back to normal temperatures in the low 80s.

The National Weather Service defines a heat wave as three days with unseasonably warm weather, usually accompanied by humid conditions.
