Beer is a part of the human experience that bridges the gap between cultures. In most parts of the world, beer plays a significant social role. So, naturally, there's a wide range of behavior and etiquette surrounding the delicious healing elixir of life--er, beverage.

One day you might find yourself traveling, thirsty for a beer. This is what I call my "natural state." Or you might find yourself in a pub, restaurant, tavern, party, cafe, convent, wherever, and they're serving beer. You don't want to look silly or disrespectful when having a beer, do you? And, if you show some respect for others' cultures and surprise them for knowing how to properly imbibe while in their society, they just might be impressed and buy your next round!

So this next video might help spare you embarrassment and/or score you free beer, both noble pursuits.

This video makes me want a beer in ways I can't even begin to explain. Frothy, refreshing, cold beer being poured into a glass repeatedly. It's like Pavlov's dog, except I'm a human being and it's 9:39am as of this writing and therefore socially unacceptable to have a beer. I've been up since 4; does that cut a few hours off of the "It's 5 o'clock somewhere?" thing?

Oh, and if you'd like to get your hands on your tickets to the Hudson River Craft Beer Fest, where you can try beer from all over the place, get them here.
