Buzzfeed recently put a spotlight on a well known Hudson Valley hiking trail. Several local hikers filmed their recent experience on the trail for all to see.

Gertrude's Nose is an eight mile hike in Minnewaska State Park Preserve. The trail will take about five hours to complete and your furry friend is welcome as long as they're on a leash. According to the New York/New Jersey Trail Conservancy, the hike features the most beautiful ridge in the Shawangunk Mountains. The hike is considered moderate to strenuous, so be prepared.

YouTube user Steve Heaney uploaded the footage and attributed their positive autumn experience to the beautiful lake, cliffs, ravines and foliage they experienced along the hike.

Minnewaska State Park itself sprawls out over more than 22,000 acres and was originally part of the Mohonk Mountain house property. A 2,000 ace forest fire earlier this year caused closures in other parts of the park including the popular Sam's Point.
