The Walkway Over The Hudson has now been open for more than 5 years. The benefits to the Hudson Valley have been remarkable.

Long before the Walkway was even a thought, the train bridge was a major route for trains both heading east and west. This video below is a few years old now, but is a great visual history of the bridge. It's hard to believe the bridge was opened in 1889 and is still solid as a rock today. Did you know 8 people died building the bridge? Watch the video for more interesting facts.

I'm already looking forward to warmer weather so I can resume my at lunch walks.
