Holding On To Old Propane Tanks Could Be Dangerous
Propane is a common fuel source for outdoor gas grills. The exchange system of most propane tank retailers is very convenient, drop off your empty tank and replace it with a filled one. But what happens when your summer grilling enthusiasm subsides?
Over time, unused tanks can rust and become damaged. Sometimes their condition is so severe that they are not returnable. With the possibility of gas leaking it seems like an unnecessary risk to have around your home. There is one post on Hudson Valley Craigslist that is offering to pick up your propane tank from your home, regardless of condition. You can find the post by clicking here.
If your tanks are just fine and you'd like to hold onto them just remember to store them safely. Always keep them outside and never near a heat source with the exception of the grill itself but I'll assume you knew that was ok.
