How much would you pay for a donut? $1? $2? If it is really great maybe and I would like to stress the maybe $5?

How about $100? Yes, dollars. The reason that it is so expensive is because it is covered in solid gold flakes and it is made in Brooklyn at a place called The Manila Social Club. The debut of 'The Golden Cristal Ube Donut' took place last week to fanfare.

According to UPI.com, the doughnut contains ube, a purple yam found in several of The Manila Social Club's dishes, as well as vintage Cristal, 24-karat edible gold flakes and gold dust.

Is it worth it? Will you try to get a couple of friends to go in on it with you? Or, why go for that? Dunkin Donuts or Adams Fairacre Farms or even Stop and Shop can hook you up with donuts for way less money.
