Hurricane Florence hit the Carolinas, but still had an effect on the Hudson Valley.

Hurricane Florence brought devastating flooding to the Carolinas. When it came up north, the Florence turned into a Tropical Storm that affected New York, and the Hudson Valley. New York Upstate reports that the Southern Tier region of New York was most affected by the remnants of Florence, but the Hudson Valley still saw heavy rain.

In Dutchess County, Staatsburg saw the most rainfall from Florence, at 1.56 inches, according to New York Upstate. Hopewell Junction got the least amount of rain in Dutchess County at .07 inches. The average rainfall across the county was .45 inches, factoring in reports from 14 different weather sources provided by New York Upstate.

Ulster County saw an average of .87 inches of rain, according to New York Upstate. 14 sources from the article were also used to determine the average. Phoenicia saw the highest amount of rainfall from Florence with 1.28 inches. Port Ewen had the least amount of rain from the storm at .59 inches.

Comparing averages alone, Ulster County got more rain than Dutchess County.
