Perhaps our greatest achievement as a society is the invention of the cheeseburger. Really, the human race should have just packed it in after they figured out the burger, because it was all downhill from there. Cheesburgers are amazing, and as someone who considers himself something of a burger connoisseur, I'm always on the lookout for the next great burger.

Well, you don't have to look much further than the Hudson Valley. A recent list from newyorkupstate.com ranked the best burger restaurants in Upstate New York, and four from the Hudson Valley made the cut.

Coming in at number 24 is The Matchbox Cafe in Rhinebeck. Joe Beez in Kingston ranked number 13. Shindig in Woodstock (which looks to have an awesome egg burger) took the number ten spot. Finally, Noshi's Coney Island in Poughkeepsie came in at number 4.

And in case you were wondering, number one went to The Village Diner in Johnson City. So who's going on a month-long trip across New York with me to try all these burgers?
