The new casino in Sullivan County isn't completed yet, but efforts to hire both full and part-time employees are ramping up.

Resort World Catskills is set to open in March of 2018 and Empire Resorts, the company that will run the operation needs to hire 1,500 people. CEO Ryan Eller and Executive Vice President Charlse Degliomni took part in an editorial board meeting at the Times Herald Record on Monday and updated the panel on their progress.

They are confident they will fill the jobs, but admit challenges remain. They hope by offering good paying jobs, they'll be able to successfully fill out their ranks by opening day.

There is a concern that Resorts World Catskills will fall short of expectations as several other recently opened casinos have. Ellers claims the Sullivan County location will be different because their focus is on becoming more than a gaming destination, by developing a world class resort.

Have you looked into getting a job there? Sounds like it's worth looking into if you're looking for work.
