If you live in the Hudson Valley the luck of the Irish may be on your side or at least closer to you than you think. Where will you be celebrating St. Paddy's Day this year? Will you take a short trip to these St. Patrick's Day hot spots?

The Hudson Valley celebrated St. Patrick's Day a little early this past weekend at the annual Paddy on the River event at Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie. However, if you're looking for a new place to party on the official day you may want to check out some of the best places to party that are actually within driving distance of Poughkeepsie.

Wallet Hub recently released a list of  the best cities where the green beer will be flowing this St. Paddy's Day.

The list was created based on the following criteria; how many bars are celebrating, Irish heritage, average beer price, weather and safety of the area.

Chicago took the gold and I'll admit that's a hike but the rest of the top four on the list is pretty reasonable.

Boston scored second and Philly nabbed third place which are both roughly three hours away.

New York City and Buffalo won fourth and fifth place. It's great to see two New York cities make the list.
