The cadets are running again.

Obstacle course and mud racing. It's this years "X Games". Off the beaten path, interesting as hell to watch and not something the ordinary public can do well. But they really want to try.

BattleFrog is an up and coming race series. It's not quite on the level of Spartan Race or Tough Mudder, but it's catching up quick. They sponsored a college bowl game, and launched the College Championships with a partnership with ESPN.

West Point will be competing this year with 15 other schools to win the second BattleFrog College Championship. Last year, West Point put on a show of force. Fastest times, just obliterating their competition. The course lends itself well to training that one might receive in the armed forces, so I would assume that West Point is going to run roughshod over their competition again.

Season 2 will premiere on ESPN on June 30th at 8pm.

Sidenote: There's been some talk of trying to get obstacle course running into the Olympics. This might be what OCR's could look like in that format. Straight forward course, standardized obstacles.
