Could a $15 minimum wage be coming to the Hudson Valley?

The Times Herald Record reports the chair of the Ulster County Legislature, John Parete, has proposed a raise to $15 for all county employees. If passed, the resolution would increase the rate for people working a minimum of 17 hours a week. County Executive Mike Hein's office stated that all full time employees will be making at least $15 starting next year due to collective bargaining.

This comes after the Fast Food Wage Board of New York State voted to increased the wage for fast food workers, to be phased in through 2021.

The Legislature will review the resolution Wednesday night in the Ulster County Office Building. If approved, it would take effect January 1st.
