The band Chevelle took a very unique approach to announce details of their new music release by writing letters directly to 12 of their fans. One of those letters ended up right here in the Hudson Valley.

Meagen Thiel of Poughquag has been a huge supporter of the band for many years. She had gotten word on Tuesday that she had been selected and would be receiving a secret package with a link to be one of the first to listen to the new rarities album called 12 Bloody Spies. The rarities collection will be available on October 26th with the pre-order starting Friday. When the package arrived, she got a signed letter from the band with all the details.

Chevelle's most recent album of all original material was 2016's The North Corridor. They've been around since 1995 when the Loeffler brothers started jamming in the family garage. Bassist Dean Bernardini joined the fold in 2005 when brother Joe left the band and the lineup has been locked in since.

When not rocking out to Chevelle, Meagen is a member of the Hudson Valley Horrors Roller Derby team. Their next match is coming up on November 11th and you can link up with them on Facebook for more information.
