A feature length film that will be produced here in the Hudson Valley this spring is seeking key crew members to staff the production. A Facebook post from the Hudson Valley Film Commission got word out that A Bread Factory will begin shooting April 1st in Hudson and is looking to hire several positions locally.

If you have experience as a key grip, gaffer, sound mixer, key PA, or personal assistant/driver, there could be some work in your future. As with many film projects, it involves a not-so standard work week, crew will be working 5 day weeks Saturday through Wednesday, April 1st through May 3rd.  Anyone interested in getting involved should reach out to Daryl at daryl.freinmark@gmail.com.

In case you're wondering what some of these positions are, a key grip is in charge of the camera equipment. A gaffer is the head electrician on the project. A sound mixer keeps the sound levels where they need to be. A personal assistant has a wide and varied job on set, generally getting to do the work no one else wants to do.

2017 has been an active year for Hudson Valley film production. Just recently a movie sent out a casting notice seeking 50 women for a prison scene. The production team received more than 1,700 emails seeking work.
