A Monday night fire at 10 McKinley Lane in the Town of Poughkeepsie killed one.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, Arlington firefighters were called to the blaze around 10:40 p.m. Monday. Once on the scene officials confirmed it was an active fire in a single family residence. While fighting the flames an unresponsive occupant was found inside the home.

Emergency personal were called to the scene and person was taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital. The patient was later declared dead at the hospital. The deceased name has not yet been released to the public.

The Arlington Fire District was aided by City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department, LaGrange Fire District, Pleasant Valley Fire District,  Mobile Life Support Services, Poughkeepsie Police Department, the Poughkeepsie Building Department, Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, and Central Hudson.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Arlington Fire District Fire Investigation Division and the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department.
