A party in the Hudson Valley turned ugly when a man allegedly hit another man in the face with a glass beer bottle.

New York State Police at Kingston arrested 28-year-old William B. McKnight of West Hurley for 2nd-degree assault, a class D felony.

Police say an investigation found that McKnight struck another man in the face with a glass beer bottle, causing the victim physical injury, while at a party in the Town of Saugerties.

McKnight was arraigned by Town of Woodstock Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 secured bond.

McKnight was ordered to appear in the Town of Saugerties Court at a later date.
