A Hudson Valley woman claims she was sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend in a popular area in Dutchess County.

On Monday around 4:30 p.m., City of Beacon Police received a call from a 39-year-old woman who said she was sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend.

The woman told authorities that the assault happened at her ex-boyfriend’s home on Main Street in Beacon. The woman was later taken to a hospital and treated for undisclosed injuries.

After an investigation into the alleged incident it was determined that a sexual assault did take place, police say.

Nicholas LaBarbera, 38, of Beacon was interviewed and later charged with criminal sex act, a felony.

LaBarbera was processed and arraigned at Beacon City Court and was remanded to Dutchess County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. Additional charges are pending, officials say.
