A Hudson Valley man who enticed a child into sexual activity is accused of saying he was going to murder a judge and lawyer.

On Wednesday in Southern District of New York Court, 28-year-old Clint Edwards of New Windsor charged with one count of threatening to assault and murder a United States judge and one count of threatening to assault and murder a federal law enforcement officer.

On November 30, 2018, Edwards was sentenced in federal court to 20 years in prison for enticing a child to engage in illegal sexual activity.

He allegedly disrupted the sentencing proceeding by threatening to assault, murder and harm the United States District Judge who was imposing the sentence and the Assistant United States Attorney who was prosecuting the case.

“The safety of our prosecutors and federal judges is of paramount importance, and any threats made against them will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said in a press release.
