A Hudson Valley man was charged with a felony DWI, possession of drugs, and more while traveling allegeldy intoxicated on the New York State Thruway.

On Wednesday around 9:30 p.m., New York State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 near Yonkers for speeding. Police say, The driver,Juan M. Sierra, 42, of Yonkers was found to be intoxicated and in possession of cocaine.

Sierra was transported and processed where officials say his blood alcohol level was determined to be 0.14%.

Sierra was charged with a felony DWI after an investigation found a previous DWI conviction in the past 10 years. He was also charged with 7th-degree criminal
possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Sierra was released after posting $500 bail on an appearance ticket returnable to the City of Yonkers Court on May 12. He was turned over to a sober third party.
