Hudson Valley Man Missing After Going Into Hudson River

A 29-year old Wappingers Falls man has gone missing after his friend reported to police that he went into the Hudson River on Thursday. 

The man's friend call Poughkeepsie police Thursday afternoon, and told them they had been smoking PCP next next to the river, and his friend had run off. The man called a second time, and said his friend had went into the river, as reported by The Poughkeepsie Journal. 

According to authorities the man was very confused during the call, due to the effects of the PCP.

City of Poughkeepsie police searched the shoreline, while the United Staes Coast Guard search the waters. They also had support from the New York State Police Aviation unit. The Coast Guard stayed in the area throughout the night.

Police are no longer actively looking for the man. The names of both the men involved have not been released.
