Police are hoping for help as they try to solve a 27-year-old case regarding a missing Hudson Valley man.

New York State Police are seeking the public’s assistance to help solve a 27-year-old cold case involving a missing Dover Plains man, Louis Reyes.

Louis Reyes was reported missing on November 11, 1989 from the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center where he was being treated on a voluntary basis for a mental disability.

He was last seen at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center on November 10, 1989, wearing a blue or gray sweatshirt and jeans.

At the time of his disappearance, Reyes was 23 years old, approximately 5’6” 152 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

Reyes would be 51 years old today.

Reyes’ disappearance continues to be investigated by police. Numerous leads have been explored throughout the investigation, including tips leading police to Connecticut and New York City, police say.
