A home in Dutchess County was designed to look like it's right out of Lord of the Rings.

Jim Costigan bought a dilapidated old house in Pawling seven years ago with the intent of tearing it down and building a place that Bilbo Baggins would be happy to call home. The film fan told Fox News that he was searching for just the right place to build his Hobbit House, and a plot of land he discovered in Pawling seemed perfect.

After convincing his wife and four children to buy the property, the family got to work on weekends to make Costigan's hobbit dreams come true. The end result is a house that unique both inside and out.

Situated on just under two acres of land on Wilkinson Hollow Road, the property looks like a set from the movies. There's a small stream with a walking bridge, a pond and even a scenic waterfall. The home is buried under a huge mound of earth that's covered with lush, green grass. A sitting area on top of the home has incredible views of the Hobbiton-esque landscape.

Behind the circular front door lies a two-bedroom, two-bathroom home. The 1,500 square foot structure has curved ceilings with skylights to make up for the lack of exterior walls. Large archways make you feel like a Hobbit yourself walking under them.

While the home has been a dream of Costigan's for quite some time, the owner has never lived in the space. The home is currently listed for $650,000.
