Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the Regional Economic Development Councils unveiled a plan to spend massive amounts of money in the Upstate New York region to help revitalize its economy, according to the Daily Freeman. All told, over $2 billion dollars will be spent overall, with three regions snagging the top amount of $500 million in grants over the next years. The Finger Lakes, the Southern Tier and Central New York grab those three spots.

The Hudson Valley will be receiving over $90 million in grants for various local projects. Among that money are some pretty cool projects, designed to help boost the Hudson Valley economy and tourism. Some of the grants awarded were:

-$100,000 to help enhance and boost access to the Walkway Over The Hudson

-$1,000,000 for the second phase of a Legoland development

-$500,000 for a Rail Trail expansion in Orange County

-$1.75 million for the Wildberry Lodge resort and water park in New Paltz.

There is A LOT of money being spent to revitalize the area, and you should check the list to see if your town and county are on the list. The Mid-Hudson Region starts on page 107, and there is a lot of little projects being funded to help and improve the Hudson Valley.

And then check out this drone footage of the Beacon docks and waterfront, because it's awesome.
